Spencer Abraham

Former US Secretary of Energy, Former US Senator R-MI

Spencer Abraham was appointed as U.S. Secretary of Energy by President George W. Bush, and served in that position from 2001 to 2005. Prior to becoming Energy Secretary, Abraham represented Michigan as a Republican member of the United States Senate from 1995 to 2001. Abraham’s book, Lights Out! Ten Myths About (and Real Solutions to) America’s Energy Crisis, debunks the myths that warp our current debate over energy, and offers new solutions to the real problems we face in America. Abraham is Chairman of the Board of AREVA, Inc. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and a J.D. from Harvard University.
